PDP Leadership, Stakeholders Rally Support For Ozigbo Ahead of Anambra Guber
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra has said the leadership of the party, stakeholders band membership in the state were solidly behind its candidate, Mr Valentine Ozigbo ahead of the the Nov. 6 governorship election.
The party said at a meeting between the State Working Committee and the Valentine Chineto Ozigbo Campaign Organisation alongside other stakeholders of the party in Anambra on Wednesday.
Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, Chairman of PDP in Anambra who gave the assurance the party would support and work assiduously to ensure it returned to Anambra government House 16 years after.
According to Nwobu, PDP is prepared for the governorship campaign. I call on party leaders, stakeholders, and members at all levels to work for Ozigbo’s success at the polls.
“I want to reassure all Anambra people, particularly our party leadership and followership, of our determination to join forces with our candidate, in the person of Ozigbo, to ensure victory for our party.
“I want to assure party members that the PDP family in Anambra is united more than ever and ready for a successful outing and that Ozigbo has our collective support.
“I thank the Board of Trustees (BoT), National Working Committee (NWC), and National Executive Committee (NEC), members and other leaders of the party, and we urge them to rally around the party’s candidate
to drum up support for Ozigbo,” he said.
In his remark, Ozigbo said that he was excited at the unanimous endorsement from the party’s leadership, stating that a united PDP will be unbeatable at the election.
Ozigbo said he and his running mate, Mrs Azuka Enemo were ready to work with the party structure at all levels to ensure synergy during the campaigns.
He said his campaign organisation was set to launch a robust campaign that will reach people at the grassroots, promising that it would based on issues that touch on the lives of the people.
He said the PDP was the most popular party in Anambra and that the Nov. 6 election presented the best opportunity for the party to deliver true reclaim its pride of place and deliver dividends of democracy to the people
“Since I emerged as the party’s candidate, we have embarked on wide consultations to ensure that the PDP presents a united front, and I am encouraged by the broad acceptance that my candidacy has received within and outside the PDP,” he said.
