Awogu, Anambra Council Boss Declares For Fed. Rep. Seat
Mr Arinzechukwu Awogu, Transition Committee Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra has declared his intention to contest for Ogbaru seat in the Federal House of Representatives.
Ogbaru who made the declaration at a rally in Atani, Ogbaru on Saturday said he would run on the ticket of of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the ruling party in Anambra.
Addressing his supporters, he assured that his representation would attract unprecedented development to the constituency, saying he had had a track record that proved he could be trusted with public office.
He urged APGA faithful to return him as their candidate for the election having shown dedication, courage, drive, accountability and transparency in service at state and local levels while assuring that he had the capacity to win the federal Constituency Seat for the party.
He said he would anchor his programme on areas of needs of people of Ogbaru Federal Constituency which included quality and accessible education, healthcare provision, roads and infrastructure development, ecological environmental interventions and youth youth inclusiveness.
According to him, my people need empowerment, agricultural support/development and access to opportunities to create wealth.
“I promise to be a vocal voice in the National Assembly representing the people of Ogbaru as well as bringing the much needed dividends of democracy that will translate into infrastructure development and upliftment of the human person.
“I will help to cause disruptive change that will bring peace and security to the people of Nigeria, as well as my immediate constituency, I will compliment Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s efforts in Ogbaru,” he said.
Mr Nnamdi Ifejika chairman of APGA in Ogbaru LGA lauded Awogu for sponsoring and sustaining the party in the local government for the past 4 year adding that the aspirant had ensured the survival and growth of the party in the area.
“We know from where Awogu, though a TC Chairman, took the party from and pulled the party in Ogbaru together and gave it life”.

Mr Paul Nwosu, the Commissioner for Information in Anambra, Chief Afam Odogwu, a stakeholder, Prince Neville Uchendu the leader of Soludo’s 12 Apostles and the Deputy Director-General Diaspora Outreach among others.
The declaration also witnessed the defection of 1,370, former members of PDP, APC, Labor Party and YPP into APGA.
