Imo: No Elections In All 11 Wards of Orsu LGA – PDP Tells INEC
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State has said that voting for Presidential and National Assembly elections held nationwide yesterday did not hold in Orsu LGA of the State.
The party said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) could not deploy personnel and election materials to the 11 electoral wards and 131 polling units in Orsu given the spate of insecurity in the area.
Recall the Orsu had been under siege by the Nigerian military for over two years destroying lives and livelihood in the process in their bid to sack alleged Biafra agitation militia.
The area has not had government presence with many natives taking flight to safe places outside the area while those around are enveloped in perpetual fear.
Report has that some APC chieftain in connivance with with some fraudulent INEC staff under the protection moved materials for all the 11 electoral wards to the council Secretariat and got some unknown people to vote on behalf the people of Orsu.(see video).
Collins Opurozor, Publicity Secretary of PDP inImo called on the national management of INEC to reject whatever result would be cooked up from Orsu LGA while drawing attention of Nigerians and international community to the illegally.
The PDP said agents of the ruling APC under Sen. Hope Uzodinma had now written fake results for the entire polling units in Orsu LGA.
According to the PDP “these forces of darkness are now pressurizing INEC officials to accept and transmit the manufactured results as authentic.
“Our Party is concerned about the future of democracy in Nigeria if this evil is allowed to happen. Imo PDP, therefore, warns these officials of INEC who are in bed with Uzodinma to desist from acts that are capable of plunging the State into anarchy and possible war.
“The identities of the INEC officials involved have since been unmasked, and Nigerians should know that any breakdown of law and order caused by this heinous crime against the State must be blamed squarely on these individuals,” it stated.
