LP’s Orogbu Wins Awka North/South Fed Seat In Anambra
Prof. Oby Orogbu, candidate of the Labour Party for Awka North and Awka South Federal Constituency in Anambra has been declared win of the Feb. 25 election with 34, 741.
Orogbu was declared winner by Mr Uche Nriagwu, Returning Officer of the Federal Constituency at the Awka South LGA office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Amawbia on Monday.
Orogbu is a lecturer in the Business Administration Department of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
The LP candidate beat her rivals Mr Obi Nwankwo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Emeka Igwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 24,814 and 12,850 to second and third places respectively.
Other parties with their votes were Young Progressive Party, 2,042; All Progressives Congress, 850: Action Alliance, 625.
In a reaction, Orogbu thanked the electorate for their massive support and promised to give them quality representation.
