Give Nigerians Good Governance Not Palliatives, Chief Okoli Urges FG
Chief Rommy Okoli, former executive chairman of Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra has called on political leaders to always act with the interest and welfare of the people at heart.
Okoli who is the Chairman of Romano Homes limited made the call in Awka on Sunday on the occasion of his 61st birthday anniversary.
The Real Estate guru who decried the worsening economy and increasing rate of poverty in the country said Nigerians were unlucky with bad leaders despite God’s abundant blessings on the country.
He chided Federal Government’s palliative programme and method of distribution and called for policies that would enable citizens engage in profitable businesses and fend for themselves
According to him, I don’t know how the Federal Government thinks it can feed Nigerians through palliatives, it is not possible, how long will it do that, the method of distribution has also been fraught with irregularities due to corruption, our people do not trust the programme.
“What Nigerians need is good environment for doing business, lower inflation rate, cheaper petrol, reasonable exchange rate and security, if you do these they can always provide for themselves,” he said
Okoli said Nigerians already had enough challenges in their hands and advised the Federal Government against leading ECOWAS to invade Niger republic to avoid a humanitarian crisis.
