YPP Humbles APGA To Win Two Federal Federal Constituency At RunOff In Anambra
The Young Progressives Party (YPP) on Saturday won the runoff election conducted for two Federal Constituencies in Anambra.
The two constituencies were Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo and Orumba North/Orumba South.
While APGA was trying to unseat the incumbent YPP in Orumba North/Orumba South on one hand, it was trying to retain its seat in Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo none of which the ruling party in Anambra could achieve.
In Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo, YPP candidate, Mr Peter Uzokwe polled a total of 25,518 votes to defeat Mr Uche Elodimuo of APGA who polled 25,412 votes to emerge winner.
In Orumba North/Orumba South, YPP’s Chinwe Nnabuife polled 14,496 votes to defeat Mr Okwudili Ezenwankwo who polled 13087 votes to win leaving APGA in distant third.
With the above results makes, YPP’s Uzokwe replace Elodimuo of APGA to represent the people of Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
YPP also retains its seat with Nnabuife representing Orumba North and Orumba South Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber.
