18 Feared Killed As 5-Storey Building Collapses In Onitsha Days After Plaza Collapse
Two weeks after a two storey plaza building collapsed at Ochanja Market killing no fewer than five persons, a 5-storey building collapsed at Fegge in Onitsha South local government area of Anambra.
The building which was still under construction was said to have collapses in the afternoon giving out a loud sound which made residents in the neighborhood scampering for safety.
No fewer than 18 persons including site workers were said to be in the building at the time it collapsed.
An official of Onitsha South Local Government Council said emergency rescue team had been deployed to the scene for rescue activities
“We urge members of the public not to panic as the Onitsha South local government area is on the top of the moment,” he said.
The Police Command in the state has confirmed the incident.
