Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors Finish Second In 2024 NBSL Season
The Anambra Beach Soccer Team, popularly known as Anambra Warriors on Saturday finished second in the 2024 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL).
The Warriors which were featuring in the Leagues fit the first time finished
behind Kebbi Beach Soccer Club at the end of the third and final round of the league in Kaduna.
The team had a hard fought victory in their final game against Kebbi United BSC which ended 3-3 apiece in regulation time with the Anambra Warriors carrying prevailing in a penalty shootout.
Coach Obinna Nwagba’s team started the campaign with a resounding win against former champions Kada BSC on the first day of the Super Four playoffs.
After suffering a momentary setback in their second game against winners Kebbi BSC, the Anambra Warriors bounced back and secured the second position.
Gabriel Chinweze, captain of Anambra Warriors said he was excited at the which he attributed to determination to finish strong.
“On behalf of the entire team, I wish to express gratitude to the Anambra Beach Soccer Association Board, led by sole sponsor Prof. Victor Madubuko, the fans, and all contributors to the team’s success,” he said.
The Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors’ second-place finish marks a significant milestone in their existence as a club, making them a force in the game.
