Anambra Commences Trials Ahead Of National Youth Games In Asaba
The Anambra Sports Development Commission has commenced preparations for the U15 National Youth Games in Asaba in September.
The Commission said Screening, Trial and Selection of athletes would hold on Aug. 27 and Aug. 28.
Emeka Obidimma, Director in Charge of Technical said the screening exercise would be for a total of 21 sporting events.
Obidimma said Athletics Chess, Football, Scrabble and Ncho will take place at the Awka Township Stadium while Boxing and Taekwondo would hold at the Alex Ekwueme Square.
He said Iyiagu Primary School would host Judo and Wrestling; Nibo Town Hall will be for Badminton; Cosmila Hotel would host Table Tennis; Bishop Crowther will host Cricket while Marble Arch will be for Swimming
Be said Our Lady’s School Nnobi will host Rugby and
Community Secondary School Isuofia and Handball while Basketball, Kungfu, Karate, Weightlifting while Achebe Stadium while Washington Memorial would host Volleyball and Beach Volleyball.
Obidimma directed athletes to come with their NIN slip and passport warning that the festival was strictly for U-15
