SWAN President Commends Kaduna On Competitions, Tasks Other State Chapters
President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Isaiah Benjamin has commended the Kaduna Chapter of the association for successfully hosting the SWAN- DrMohammed Maina Media Badminton Tournament.
Benjamin spoke at the closing ceremony of the competition which was held at the Exclusive Badminton Club, Kaduna State University (KASU) between Aug. 23 and Aug. 24.
A Statement by Okpani Dickson, the President Media Aide quoted him as charging other State chapters to take a cue from their Kaduna counterpart by staging competitions that would bring members and other journalists together.
The number one Sports Writer advised the Kaduna Chapter to organise more competitions and if possible make it a weekly or monthly routine to keep members in the best physical and social forms.
“I must commend the Kaduna State Chapter for this laudable initiative. It has brought together our members and other journalists competing for their media houses and chapels of the Nigeria Union of Journalists.
“As you can see, I participated in this tournament and besides the fun I derived, I also won a prize in the doubles category, though I lost out in the singles,” he added.
Benjamin commended the sponsor of the tournament for the gesture, while calling on him to expand the next edition to the entire North West zona.
