Zik Varsity Warns Students Against Spraying Money, Vehicular Nuisance During Graduation
The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has warned graduating students and their families against irresponsible display of affluence on campus during or after the period of their degree examination.
The Safety Department of the university which issued in a warning in a circular made available to journalists on Saturday condemned the invasion of the campus with fleets of cars, spraying and throwing bundles of money by students.
The circular which was signed by Ken Chukwurah the Chief Safety Officer said those involved in unwholesome trend drove against traffic, speed across bumps exposing lives and property of both staff and students on campus to danger.
“The safety department seriously frowns at this ugly trend which is increasing by the day and has, therefore, decided to put an end to this lawlessness forthwith.
“Henceforth, any graduate, friends or sponsors caught in this show of rascality will have their vehicles impounded and be brought to book.
“The safety department is determined to entrench ease of movement and safety for vehicular and human traffic,” it said.
The University said the students were by the notice advised to comply with the directive.
