Anam Youth Foundation Outlines 10-Year Plan For Education, Community Dev’t
The Elite Youths of Anam Foundation (EYAF) says it will focus on institutional growth, educational advancement, digital innovation and sustainable community development.
Dr Christopher Anekwe, the President of the Foundation said this while reeling out its programmes ahead of the roadmap ahead of the 10th anniversary celebration scheduled for December 5.
Anekwe said EYAF’s long-term goal was to establish stronger systems for human-capital development rather than remain primarily dependent on individual programmes.
He said the group’s ambition was to move from being primarily a programme-based organisation into a stronger institution for human-capital and community development.
He said the proposed initiatives is an Intellectual Hub that would connect Anam graduates and undergraduates, encourage intellectual engagement and provide opportunities for mentorship and collaboration on community-development projects.
Another major proposal was the Edu-Support Fund designed to create a structured and sustainable mechanism for educational assistance. Its proposed areas of support include scholarships, examination registration, back-to-school assistance, professional-course grants, skills-acquisition grants and emergency tuition.
“The fund is also expected to support library development and science and technical laboratories in selected schools.
“Technology and data management will feature prominently in the foundation’s planned transformation. Anekwe said EYAF intended to expand digital learning, online mentorship, virtual training and opportunity-sharing platforms while improving its ICT infrastructure.
“A continuously updated beneficiary database is also part of the 2036 vision, alongside improved systems for programme monitoring and the retrieval of organisational and stakeholder information.
“The foundation’s development priorities include education, entrepreneurship, skills acquisition, youth employment and leadership development, while healthcare may be explored in the future,” he said.
Anekwe said future geographical growth would depended on demonstrated need, institutional capacity, partnerships and available resources.
He envisaged that by 2036, the foundation would have a sustainable Edu-Support Fund, expanded scholarships, stronger educational infrastructure and a network of professional mentors supporting young people.
He identified leadership succession and stronger governance systems as critical requirements for institutional continuity adding that the foundation must develop structures capable of sustaining its mission over time.
“The next decade will be a decade of institutionalising impact, building systems, opportunities, partnerships and leaders capable of transforming Anam on a larger and more sustainable scale,” he said.
EYAF was founded in 2016 with a vision to raise and nurture new breeds of excellent leaders.
Its motto, “Transforming Lives; Developing Our Communities” reflects its commitment to youth development and community advancement.
