Ambassador Eziaha Uwaezuoke Football Championship Enters Quarter Final Stage
Eight football clubs have qualified for the quarter finals stage of the ongoing Ambassador Eziaha Uwaezuoke Football Championship in Isuochi , Abia State.
The competition kicked off with a friendly match between Enyimba FC U19 and Bohold FC Umunneochi at the Chrisnak Stadium, Amuda Isuochi had a total of 12 clubsides participating at different venues within the community.
The clubs which made it to the last eight are Giant Brillar FC of Enugu, Pioneer FC ,Mbano , FC Baresi of Okigwe, Abia Warriors Feeders FC Umuahia, Temper Coolers FC of Amuda and Bright FC of Nneato, Sportter Utd FC of Ngodo Isuochi , and Behold FC of UmunneochI .
Onyemaechi Eze, a leading grassroots coach and Coordinator of the Competition to sports journalists that the tournament was the best ever in Umunneochi local government area.
Eze said it had created the
opportunity for clubs outside the area to participate in the tournament which increased the competitiveness of the competition.

had the opportunity to against NPFL champion Rangers FC Enugu and Enyimba main team in friendly matches.
“It has also provided an avenue for the discovery of raw talents and football scouts from different locations have been on ground at various match venues to identify players,” he said.
The Coordinator said some players who had been identified had gone to NPFL and NNL clubs for trials and advancement in their football career.
He said coaches from top Nigerian clubs including Rangers FC, Enyimba FC, Edel FC, Abia Comet, Solution FC had visited match venues scouting purposes noting that more were expected at the quarter, semi final and final.
“As the Chief organizer of this league I am very happy with the performance of the players in terms of talent and discipline, from what I see many of this young players will surely hit it big if they maintain focus,” he said.
Eziaha Uwaezuoke, the sponsor of the Competition said his passion for grassroots football was driven by the desire to see young players get the opportunity to go to bigger clubs in Nigeria, Africa and Europe in the nearest future.
Uwaezuoke expressed heartfelt appreciation to Chris-Odinaka Igwe OFR, for providing the playing pitch and also the Stadium manager Okigwe stadium where the Group B clubs played their matches during the qualifier.
The finals of the Ambassador Eziaha Uwaezuoke Football Competition is expected to hold in October where selected players will be sponsored for trials legs abroad.
