APGA Chieftain Hails Electorate On Peaceful Poll As Okafor Wins Awka South
Chief Ossy Onuko, a chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has congratulated the people of Anambra for a successful conduct of the Local Government Council election on Saturday.
Onuko who is the Managing Director of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) while speaking on Sunday commended the electorate for their peaceful conduct before, during and after the election.
He was reacting to the victory of Prince Chinedu Okafor
The result showed that Okafor of APGA won by 23,342 votes ahead of the People Democratic Party candidate who scored 1, 194 votes.
Onuko described the exercise as participatory, free, fair and credible.
He commended the electorate for voting for APGA, saying it was a clear endorsement of the good work of the party and the government of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
“Having served the people of Anambra meritoriously since 2006, it was not unexpected that the people would reciprocate by voting massively for APGA.
*In my ward where I voted, turnout was very high, voters came out in their numbers and other political parties participated
“I want to commend the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission for a good job and we hope that it can only be better next time” he said.
The Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission was yet to release the comprehensive result of the election as at press time
