AFCON: Rojenny Backs Super Eagles, Says Victory Will Revive Football Spirit In Nigeria
Rommy Ezeonwuka, Managing Director of Rojenny Stadium and Tourists Village, Oba near Onitsha has thrown his weight behind the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the final match against the Elephants of Cote d’ivoire.
Ezeonwuka, who owns the largest private stadium in Nigeria, told journalists that the victory will revive the dying football culture in the country.
Recall that Nigeria, three time winners, are squaring up against Cote d’Ivoire in the final of the 2024 African Cup of Nations on Sunday.
The facility investor said Nigeria was the favorite to lift the cup as the Super Eagles have had impressive and consistent performance from inception of the competition.
According to him, I wish the Nigerian Super Eagles victory in their final match on Sunday, they are the best in the competition, so I support them to win.
“Bringing the AFCON cup to Nigeria will revive the spirit of football in the country, the motivation it will bring to the game will be unprecedented.
“Football started dying in Nigeria about 24 years ago when European football took over all the space, that was when our stadium started being empty, I that AFCON glory will reenact the football spirit in Nigeria,” he said.
Ezeonwuka called on Nigerians to pray and sho massive support for Super Eagles as they battle for the soul of African football with their West African neighbours later today.
