Anambra 2025: Ukachukwu Promises To Restore Security, Revamp Economy
Dr Nicholas Ukachukwu, Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra has said he will restore the glory of the state if he wins the Nov. 8 election,
Ukachukwu who spoke to newsmen in Awka on Sunday said he would prioritise security, electricity, healthcare and job creation.
He said his desire was to lift Anambra from the present uncertainty and despair to a surefooted, secure, peaceful and prosperous environment.
He expressed regret that in spite the high expectations the people had in the current dispensation, they suffered insecurity, leadership insincerity, disappointment and failure.
Ukachukwu decried thd multiple tax regime in Anambra enforced by touts deployed by government under various nomenclature including SASA, OCHA, Agunaechemba Aka-Odo, tax masters and others.
The APC candidate promised to save the situation and restore the lost glory of the state by tackling insecurity, revitalising critical sectors of the economy and accelerate development in all communities according to their comparative advantages.
Ukachukwu said Anambra is not working and therefore urgently needed a transformative leadership with an agenda premised on an all-inclusive security, infrastructure development and welfare.
He said no society made progress in the face of insecurity and vowed to restore peace and confidence which the state was known for within the first 90 days of his swearing in.
“I will attract our youths back home through industrial development and sustainable job creation and provision. I will fight criminalities, social vices, restiveness and insecurity with jobs provision”
“Insecurity has become the greatest threat to our State’s development and progress, such that investors are scared to do business here.
Companies are not springing up because of fear, we are coming very prepared, he said
Ukachukwu said the huge deposit of natural gas in the state would be harnessed to drive power generation because electricity was the engine room of economic development.
He said the energy infrastructure would be owned by the people and not government monopolies.
“Electricity is central to any meaningful economic transformation, will tap into our gas reserves to generate power, but with a people-first approach,” he said.
“We want the people to take ownership, economically and psychologically,” he said.
Ukachukwu said he would implement a comprehensive upgrade of the healthcare system, with an effective health centre in every community and a general hospital in every local government area where qualified medical personnel would be engaged.
The APC candidate said healthcare was not a luxury but a right and that his administration, every citizen would have access to basic and specialist healthcare.
Ukachukwu said he would not disappoint the people when given the mandate adding that he would restore the glory of the state as the “Light of the Nation.
“I have invested heavily in Anambra because I believe in this state, I plan to retire in my village and commitment is personal.
“Investors are staying away because things are not working but when we fix the system, they will come, and our you
ths will be employed again,”he said.
