Anambra Deputy Governor Bags Ife-Mbaukwu Title, Eulogises Wife
Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Deputy Governor of Anambra has been honoured with a chieftaincy title by his people of Mbaukwu in Awka South Local Government Area.
Ibezim, the hard working youthful number two citizen of Anambra was crowned with the title of Ife-Mbaukwu while his wife bagged the deserved title of Ugogbe-Mbaukwu.
His Royal Majesty, Igwe Peter Anugwu, Eze-Ukwu Mbaukwu, the traditional ruler of Mbaukwu conferred the title on the couple in his palace on Friday.
Igwe Anugu said the honour was in recognition of the contributions of Ibezim to the development of the community and Anambra in general.
The deputy governor expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler and people of Mbaukwu for finding him worthy of the honour .
Ibezim dedicated the award to the administration of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo which he said was transforming the state and was willing to do more for the people of Anambra.
“It was a day of immense honour for my family as His Royal Majesty, Igwe P.N. Anugwu, Eze-Ukwu Mbaukwu, not only found me worthy to be crowned Ife Mbaukwu.
“He also bestowed a beautiful and deserving title of Ugogbe Mbaukwu upon my dear wife, the pillar of my life,” he said.
Ibezim congratulated his wife whom he described as a partner in every journey on becoming his royal counterpart.
“I say a big congratulations, this title is a perfect reflection of your grace, strength, and the dignity with which you carry yourself.
“You are indeed a noble eagle, a symbol of strength and beauty for our community
“As I become the Light of Mbaukwu, I am so proud to stand beside you
, Ugogbe Mbaukwu,” he said.
