Anambra Govt Arraigns 8 Pastors For Allegedly Faking Miracles

 

 

 

Eight pastors were on Friday arraigned in an Anambra High Court sitting in Awka for allegedly stage-managing miracles.

 

The pastors were arrested by the Anambra government for allegedly faking miracles.

 

They included Ndubisi Nnachukwu of Omega Dominion Ministry, Ekeleme Chris Ugochukwu of Cloud of Glory Prophetic Ministry, Bishop Emeka Nwamkpa of Chapel of Faith Ministry, Peter Chukwu of Messiah Adoration Ministry, Chinedu Egwuonwu of Citadel of Grace Ministry,

 

Others were Ebele Nnachukwu of Jehovah the Mighty Than All Ministry, Miracle Iruoma of City of Power Ministry, and Chukwukadibia Ogwuama of Land of Testimony Adoration Ministry,

 

Charges against them were contained suit nos: A/65C/26, A/55C/26, A/63C/, A/64C/26, A/57C/26, A/60C/26, A/58C/26, A/61C/26.

 

Their alleged offences included wielding fake supernatural powers, using a religious place of worship for the commission of crime contrary to sections 18(3) and 19 (1) of the Anambra State Homeland Security Law, 2025.

 

They also included obtaining by false pretence contrary to section 3 (1) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act LFN 2006.

 

Some of them were charged along with agents whom they allegedly use to procure the persons who are paid to pretend that they have been healed or delivered.

 

The charges also alleged that the pastors obtained rewards from members of the public through the fake miracles they performed.

 

The pastors pleaded not guilty.

 

In his ruling, the presiding judge, Justice Jude Obiora, ordered that the defendants be remanded in custodial custody.

 

The matter was adjourned to June 15 for hearing and consideration of their bail applications
