Anambra Guber: APGA BoT Member Seeks End To Litigation In Party
Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka, a member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Board of Trustees has called on Chief Chukwuma Umeoji accept the Court of Appeal judgement on his quest to fly the flag of the party in the Nov. 6 governorship election in Anambra.
Ezeownuka gave the advice during a parley with journalists at his Ogilisi palace within the Rojenny Stadium and Games Village, Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.
Ezeonwuka is also the owner of popular Rojenny Stadium and Games Village, Oba, near Onitsha
Recall that a Court of Appeal in Kano on Aug.10 dismissed the order of Jigawa High Court sitting in Birnin Kebbi which ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to recognise Umeoji and publish his name as APGA candidate.
Ezeonwuka urged Umeoji to accept the verdict and stop further litigation in the interest of the party as to allow APGA to focus on campaigns and winning the governorship election.
According to him, I am sad that money, which could have been ploughed into the election proper in order to secure victory for the party, was being spent in courts over who becomes the authentic candidate for the governorship election.
“I call on Umeoji to submit himself to the supremacy of APGA and also ask the leadership of the party to devise an internal mechanism that will check the repetition of activities, actions or inactions causing internal crisis in the party,” he said.
