Anambra Guber: Coalition Vows To work For PDP’s Victory
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Coalition, a political volunteer group has pledged their total support for the victory of the party in the Nov. 6 governorship election in Anambra.
Chief Ikedi Obi, Chairman of PDP Coalition said they when the group paid a courtesy call on Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, chairman of the party in Anambra at the party Secretariat in Awka.
Obi said the group made up of individuals from different professional fields had volunteered to assist the PDP in their various communities and their electoral wards because of the need for a new vision in Anambra Government House.
He said they were satisfied with the quality of leadership that Nwobu had provided for PDP in Anambra and had come to show solidarity with the party since the timetable for the election had been released.
“We are people from processionals in different fields and we have decided to support PDP with our resources in view of the fact that the party represents the change we need in Anambra.
“PDP is a party of the people with vision for good life for the masses, we shall deploy all resources within our reach money, energy and time to work for the victory of the party,” he said.
In his response, Nwobu said the task of enthroning the purposeful government was the task before everybody.
He thanked the group for identifying with the party and urged to go to their various communities and electoral wards to preach the gospel of need for a PDP government come November.
“That Anambra is in leadership crisis is no longer the issue, what is before us is; how can we recover Anambra and return to the trajectory of progressive development.
“We need more volunteers with good intention like PDP Coalition for the task ahead,” he said.
The News Agency Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission on Tuesday released the timetable for the election.
According to the electoral body, the election would hold on Nov.6 while sale of nominations forms and party primaries would last from June 10 to July 1.
