Anambra Guber: CP Olofu Sues For Peaceful Electioneering
Mr Tony Olofu, Commissioner of Police in Anambra has called on the Anambra electorate, especially the political parties and their candidates to play by the rules as the Nov.6 governorship election draws near.
Olofu made the call during an.interractive session with political parties on Wednesday as they embark on intensive and statewide campaigns ahead of the polls.
DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra Command who disclosed this in a Statement said the CP assured of rediness of the Police in the state maintain peace throughout the process.
Olofu however called on all.parties to go about the election with tolerance and mindset for peace.
“The CP assures the good people of Anambra State that the Police is committed to working with other patriotic stakeholders toward ensuring public order in the State before, during and after the political rallies.
“Meanwhile, the CP, being the head of internal security in the state shall always be on ground to coordinate the security deployment and ensure all things being equal the rallies shall be hitch-free.
“He therefore, calls on members of the general public to coordinate themselves and cooperate with the security agents in the course of discharging our constitutional duty,” he stated.
