Anambra ICT Agency Assesses Effectiveness Of Digital Infrastructure In 25 MDAs
The Anambra Information and Communication Technology (AICT) Agency says it has assessed about 25 Ministries, Departments and Agencies as part of its efforts to build an evidence-based digital governance infrastructure in the state
The assessment examines websites, official government emails, digital systems for records, payments, and approvals, online services, data management, cybersecurity practices, service delivery, and compliance with government ICT standards.
Ms Chinyelu Odigbo, the Unit Lead of AICT MDA and Compliance Unit said some of the institutions were Ministries of Justice, Education, Agriculture, and Commerce and Industry, among others.
Odigbo said the exercise was designed to determine how well each MDA were performing digitally and where ICTA interventions were needed.
She said the exercise enabled ICT Agency experts to speak with authority on the true state of digital government across MDAs and act on the findings.
According to her, the government does not run on assumptions; it runs on evidence.
“These MDA visits are how the Agency builds that evidence, MDA by MDA,” she said.
Odigbo said early findings indicated uncertainty around NDPA 2023 compliance in some MDAs and that record management practices vary across institutions, highlighting areas requiring attention.
She said the assessment visit was not a one-off exercise adding that the ICTA tracking identified gaps, guiding MDAs on compliance, and maintaining contact through designated ICT focal persons.
