Anambra Police Command Upbeat Ahead Of BIPOGA In Asaba
The Anambra Police Command has expressed optimism for an impressive medal haul at the 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA) in Asaba, the capital of Delta State.
The 15th BIPOGA themed “Beyond the Badge: Excellence in Action” scheduled to hold from Feb. 14 to Feb. 28.
BIPOGA, a sporting competition for police Commands across the country is aimed at fostering camaraderie, wellness, and unity within the Nigeria Police Force.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra said the sports command’s team was ready determined to represent the State and compete for laurels with great zeal.
Ikenga said CP Ikioye Orutugu, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra, represented by the Command Management Team hosted strategic officers of the Command and selected officers who would participate in the games at the Command headquarters.
Orutugu commended the steadfastness, discipline, and commitment of the officers, describing their dedication and optimism as a clear demonstration of excellence beyond routine policing duties.
“All Police Games serves as an important platform for promoting physical fitness, teamwork, unity, and mental alertness among officers, all of which contribute significantly to effective service delivery and professional efficiency within the Force.
“I am confident in the preparedness and morale of the Anambra Police contingent and assure you of the Command’s full support and encouragement as you strive to win medals for the Command and the Nigeria Police Force as a whole,” he said.
Orutugu urged the officers to uphold the core values of discipline, fairness, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
He reminded them that they were ambassadors of the Anambra Police Command and must conduct themselves with dignity and professionalism at all times.
BIPOGA will feature officers from various State Commands and Police formations across the country.
Some of the sporting events to feature include Archery, Arm wrestling, basketball, volleyball, football, judo, tug of war, karate, tennis, swimming, chess, boxing, weight lifting and many others.
“The Anambra Command wishes our officers success and looks forward to a very commendable outing at the games,” he said.
