Anambra Poll: ADC Candidate Swears Oath To Serve Only One Term If Elected
My John Nwosu, candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has sworn an oath to serve only one term if elected governor of Anambra on Nov. 8.
Nwosu made the commitment in an affidavit deposed at an Anambra High Court, sitting in Awka, a copy which was made available to journalists on Friday.
Nwosu an indigene of Nnewichi, Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government in Anambra South Senatorial District, said he was aware that there was a rotation of the office of Governor of Anambra among the three Senatorial Zones based on equity, natural Justice and good conscience.
Recall that Anambra South Senatorial Zone currently occupied the seat of governor and had only one term of four years to complete their turn.
Nwosu said he was also aware that after the remaining one term of four years, Anambra Central Senatorial Zone will nominate a candidate for eight years before the office rotates to the North Senatorial zone.
“It is in total agreement and submission to this rotation principle that I depose to this affidavit under Oath.
“I do only one term of four years of office as governor of Anambra to allow Anambra Central Senatorial Zone produce the next Governor after my term of office.
“I appeal to all Anambra Central Senatorial Zone stakeholders, the entire voting population of the zone, all men and women of good conscience to support and vote for me under ADC on Nov. 8, 2025.
“l hereby swear under oath to honour and respect the Governorship rotation principle of Anambra State under natural justice, equity and good conscience.
“I depose to this affidavit under oath the law and in good faith, I swear to this affidavit sincerely and conscientiously believing the same to be true and correct in accordance with the provisions of the Oath
s Act, 2004,” he said.
