Anambra rerun election, foretaste of 2025 guber…Ifeanyi Ubah
Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah, member representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly says the victory of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Saturday Federal Constituencies rerun elections in the state is a sign of what will happen in the 2025 governorship election.
Ubah who spoke to journalists in Nnewi on Sunday said he won the two elections held for Orumba North/Orumba South without stepping out if his house.
In the rerun election for Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo, YPP candidate, Mr Peter Uzokwe displaced Mr Uche Elodimuo of the All Progressive Grand Alliance to emerge the lawmaker representing the constituency.
In Orumba North/Orumba South Federal Constituency, YPP’s Chinwe Nnabuife defeated Mr Okwudili Ezenwankwo of the Peoples Democratic Party to retain her seat.
Ubah said in spite the fact that APGA led government dominated election areas with the presence of serving Commissioners and top Special Advisers, they could not get Anambra people to vote for them.
“I have demonstrated to Soludo that I am a Street General.
“Election is a sign of what will happen in 2025 governorship contest,” he said.
Ubah said he was delighted with the result of the rerun election in Anambra as it showed that he was a force to reckon with in the state politics.
“I did not step out of my house to go to any polling unit on that day but the other party came with full force, they wanted to make a point but the people knew what they wanted,” he said.
Ubah commended the security agencies for their role in ensuring that the rerun election went peacefully.
