ANSSI: Washington Memorial Sweep All Gold Medals In Volleyball
Washington memorial grammar school, Onitsha have emerged Champions in the four categories of the volleyball event of the ongoing Anambra Sports Solution Initiative (ANSSI) festival.
ANSSI festival is a programme of the Anambra Sports Development Commission organised for primary and secondary schools in the state.
Washington Memorial dominated in male and female in both U14 and U18 male categories respectively to win the four available gold in the event.
The games were concluded at the Alex Ekwueme Square Volleyball court, Awka.
Bubendorff Memorial Grammar School, Adazi-Nnukwu won two gold in male U14 and U18 categories while Cor Maria Secondary School Nkpor and Rosa Mystica Secondary School, Agulu picked gold each in female U14 and U18 events.
U14 male and female bronze medals went to Nnewi High School, Nnewi and St Kizito Secondary School Umudioka respectively while Don Bosco Secondary School Obosi and Christ Secondary School, Osumenyi won the male and female bronze in U18 respectively.
Coach Uchenna Okafor, Coordinator of the volleyball event described the game as competitive and entertaining.
Okafor said the students showed high prospects and advised school managers to ensure they took the more seriously and help develop the talents of players.
The ANSSI festival will end on June 7.
