APGA, APC in Panic Mode As NDC’s Onunkwo, Obi Wave Shakes Anambra South

The growing popularity of Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Anambra South Senatorial District, is raising concerns in the political camps of his opponents, including the incumbent.

Onunkwo, popularly known as Nwoke Factory, has continued to build his campaign around issues affecting the people, engaging communities and seeking support for a new era of purposeful representation and improved legislative dividends.

As Onunkwo and his supporters continue to focus on issue-based campaigning, his opponents are busy fabricating allegations of misinformation and negative propaganda.

This is all in an attempt to undermine his growing acceptance among the electorate.

Unarguably , the NDC presidential ticket of Peter Obi/Rabiu Kwankwaso and its political influence had become a significant factor in the January elections at the national level and Anambra South Senatorial District in particular.

Recently, a Facebook post attributed to Ozoemena Chukwudi Josephat alleged that Onunkwo said he joined the NDC to take advantage of Obi’s popularity and political influence.

The allegation has generated reactions online, with several commentators questioning its authenticity and describing it as dead-on-arrival propaganda.

Onunkwo’s followers have dismissed the claim as fabricated propaganda intended to create confusion and weaken the growing synergy between the philanthropist and Obi.

Apart from the fact that the post was made on a page that is exclusively created to promote the political activities of the incumbent Senator, no independent evidence was presented alongside the allegation to substantiate the purported statement.

Prince Okechukwu, a social commentator described the allegation as unintelligent political propaganda.saying it was designed to mislead voters.

“A reasonable politician cannot utter this. I believe that this is political propaganda to poison the minds of the gullible,” he said.

Similarly, Ifeanyi dismissed the claim as an attempt to distract voters from the issues that matter to them.

“I believe Dr Ebuka Onunkwo is more intelligent than them.

“Woeful defeat is already staring them in the face, and this is an attempt to create confusion. We know their style,” he said.

Mmadu Abuchi simply said “ All Progressive Congress and propaganda, APC fake from top to bottom,”

Uchendu cautioned against distortion and mindless propaganda saying it could attract legal consequences.

“What you just wrote and put in inverted commas is libelous. Chief Ebuka Onunkwo never said that,”

For Chike Basil, ‘this is the handwork of attributed the controversy to political opponents within the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and their so-called ‘solution’.

“APGA and their cohorts will be disgraced come 2027 election,”

Meanwhile, Onunkwo has dismissed the allegation as unfounded, saying it was the handiwork of political opponents who have run out of ideas.

He said he would not be distracted by what he described as attempts to derail his campaign adding that his priority remained responsible electioneering and purposeful leadership.

“When somebody pays young people to fabricate lies and run propaganda against opponents, it simply means they are feeling the heat.

“I do not blame them because they have nothing to tell the people,” he said.

As January elections draws closer, build up in Anambra South will gradually intensify thereby exposing the electorate to desperately contrived lies and misinformation.

Onunkwo and his supporters restated again and again that their priority remains mobilising voters around his candidacy and the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket to ensure comprehensive victory for the NDC in the Senatorial District.
