APGA: I’m Still In-Charge, We Don’t Have Crisis …Oye
Chief Victor Oye, National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) says there is no crisis in the party and he is still the substantive chairman.
Oye said this in an interview on Tuesday.
He spoke in reaction to the piece of information that the party had been factionalised with a parallel national chairman
A splinter group within APGA had on Tuesday allegedly suspended Oye from the party and swore in one Chief Jude Okeke as new acting chairman
Oye said the purported swearing of another chairman of APGA was an unnecessary distraction and held no water.
According to him, my attention has been drawn to media reports where some persons gathered and purportedly swore in somebody.
“I am the valid and substantive chairman of APGA, only the National Working Committee has the power to elect and swear in a National Chairman, so that is an unnecessary distraction by people who do not exist,” he said.
Oye said the party was now focused on conducting a transparent primary election one June 23 having successfully sold nomination forms, screened aspirants and made the result public.
He said the Ward Congress slated for June 15 and June 16 was progressing smoothly while assuring party faithful to remain calm.
“Build up to Nov. 6 governorship election is progressing according to the schedule of our party. We have concluded the nomination process and people who are uncomfortable have the window to appeal as provided for in our guidelines.
” APGA is focused and there is no crisis in the party, there is only one leadership led by my humble self as chairman,” he said.
