Aug.16 By-election: Onitsha Must Avenge Azuka’s Death By Voting APC’s Ojekwe—Ikemba Front
Ikemba Front, the flagship political support structure of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in Anambra, has called on the people of Onitsha North 1 Constituency to come out en-masse and vote for the Chuka Ojekwe during the Aug. 16 by-election .
Ojekwe is the candidate of the APC.
Mr Arinzechukwu Awogu, the National Coordinator Ikemba Front made the call while speaking at the campaign rally for the APC candidate at Ime-Obi Ogbeoza Arena, Inland Town, Onitsha, on Sunday .
Awogu said Onitsha North 1 Constituency was the heart of Onitsha Ado n’Idu and represented the royal diadem which must not be gifted to those who disparage and denigrate the Onitsha kingdom.
Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu who is the Director of Admin., Anambra State APC said the kidnap and murder of Mr Justice Azuka the former occupant of the seat was as a result of the failure of the APGA government in Anambra.
According to him, Saturday we will use our vote to reclaim the pride of the Onitsha ancient kingdom.
“Your vote for APC is a vote for Hon. Chuka Ojekwe, your vote for Hon. Chuka Ojekwe is a vote for Obi of Onitsha and it is a vote for the pride of Onitsha Ado n’Idu.
“Use your vote to tell APGA that their party and their governor cannot denigrate the highly revered Onitsha ancient kingdom..
“APGA has insulted Onitsha enough and we must silence them by voting massively for APC to restore the pride of the people of Onitsha,” he said.
He assured that Ojekwe would be the true voice of the people in the State Assembly adding that his victory under APC would give Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu the benefit of having a sitting house member which he would be sworn in as governor on March 17, 2026.
The Onitsha North 1 Constituency by-election is to elect a replacement for Mr Justice Azuka, who was kidnapped in Onitsha on Dec. 24 and later
found dead on Feb. 5.
