CSS Enuguabo Gets Renovated Administrative, Classroom Blocks
The Commissioner for Education in Anambra Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, on Thursday inaugurated two buildings renovated and handed over to Community Secondary School, Enuguabo, Ufuma in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The administrative block was renovated by Fidelity Bank at the cost of N25 million while the laboratory block was renovated by Enuguabo Oganiru Union in Diaspora at the cost of N20 million.
Chuma-Udeh while commending the donors described private sector intervention as crucial to the development of the education sector.
She said she was impressed by the infrastructure upgrade in the school, noting that the place was so dilapidated when she visited in 2023 that it was marked as an emergency case.
She appreciated Fidelity Bank on behalf of the Anambra government for for revamping the structures as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as well as Dr Raymond Obieri for using his goodwill to attract this development to Enuguabo in Ufuma
According to her, CRS is what makes organisations human, that is what makes the people to feel the impact of their existence in the society .
“I want to on behalf of the governor, the students, mothers in Anambra thank Fidelity Bank.
“The Anambra government will continue to distribute resources to schools in the state and we will ensure that Enuguabo will get their share.
“We also commend the diaspora for rebuilding the laboratory block,” she said.
The Commissioner also commended the principal of the school, Mrs Nkoli Anikpe for her commitment and leadership quality with which she was able to transform the school.
“You have given your account of stewardship and I am impressed with your work, the people of this community have also spoken kindly of you,” she said.

MD /CEO of Fidelity Bank said the event was significant as it coincided with the bank’s period of thanksgiving.
Onyeali-Ikpe who was represented by Mr Nosa Orumwense, Head, Awka Region of Fidelity Bank said the project worth N25 million aligned with the bank’s two major CSR pillars, which were Quality Education and Youth Empowerment.
She said Fidelity believed that education remained one of the most powerful tools for national transformation because when a child gained access to knowledge, confidence and guidance, the community became stronger.
“By supporting the
educational infrastructure of this community, we are giving students and teachers an environment that encourages
learning, discipline and pride.
“For us at Fidelity Bank, this project represents more than a building, it represents opportunity, progress and a shared
commitment to building a better future for our youth here in Enugwuabo Ufuma and beyond.
“We are confident that this administrative block will support effective school management, create better learning
conditions and inspire students to aim higher,” she said.
Appreciating the donors on behalf of the people, Mr Willie Okafor, the President General of Enuguabo Oganiru Union appreciated Fidelity Bank for renovating the school block through the facilitation of Dr Raymond Obieri.
Okafor said the infrastructure in the school which was found in the early 1970s were so dilapidated that they feared the community would lose it.
“We are happy that the current generation did not lose the school due to dilapidation of infrastructure
“We plead with the Anambra State government to equip the laboratory and upgrade the overall learning environment,” he said.
