Dunga promises To End Marginalisation Of Communities In Awka North
Chief Anthony Nchekwube, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) says he will prioritise grassroots development if elected as chairman of Awka North Local Government Area.
Nchekwube, a former State Auditor of APGA who made the promise said he would end marginalisation of communities and bring government closer to the people.
Anambra local government election is scheduled for August 2026.
The grassroots politician who is the Convener of APGA Apostles Forum said his contract with people of Awka North included service with transparency, respect for traditional institutions and community leadership.
He said if elected, he would create jobs through agriculture, support the cooperative model, empower youths and women and involve relevant stakeholders in selecting development projects.
Dunga said as a way of promoting transparency in governance, he would publish monthly project updates and hold bi-monthly town hall meetings across the ten communities.
“I will set up Ward Development Councils made up of youths, women, farmers and traditional leaders to design local priorities.
“I will drive a merit based local government service with strict transparency and performance benchmarks.
“I will lead from the communities, farms, markets and schools, leadership for Awka North will be practical, present and people-centered,” he said.
