IPMAN Hails Dangote Over Plan To Distribute Products Directly
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has lauded plans by Dangote Petroleum to go into distribution of Petroleum products.
Mr Chinedu Anyaso, Chairman of IPMAN Enugu Depot Community in charge of Anambra, Ebonyi and Enugu States said this in an interview in Awka on Wednesday.
Anyaso said the initiative would be in the interest of marketers as it would remove logistics risk from marketers.
He said it would bring competition in the product distribution chain.
“It is a welcome development, it will go a long way to reducing the risk in our business” he said.
Anyaso said changes in pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) was in response to changes in crude price.
Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) currently sells for between N930 and NN950 per litre instead of between 870 and N890 before the weekend.
He expressed confidence that prices would drop if crude prices went down.
“Marketers do not have control over product prices, we are selling based on the prevailing depot prices, at the moment, loading cost is about N935 and N940 per litre in Calabar, Port Harcourt and Warri.
“This is because crude prices have risen from around 65 dollar to 78 dollars per barrel and that is what we are expe
riencing now,” he said.
