Lockdown: Police allegedly shoot, deflate car tyres in Anambra
A man, Mr Nnaemeka Offor says Police officers enforcing lockdown at Nkwo roundabout in Umunze, Orumba South Council Area of Anambra allegedly shot two of his car tyres and deflated them following his refusal to part with money to get access.
Offor in a viral video circulated online claimed that he was going to a bank in the vicinity to make some withdrawal to feed his family.
SP Haruna Mohammed, Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra said the command had received the report with deep sense of sadness.
Haruna said Mr Abang Commissioner of Police in the state had ordered for a full scale investigation into the mmatte
“The attention of Anambra State Police Command has been drawn to a video clip that went viral in the Social media on April 14 in which a Police officer allegedly shot and deflated the front tyres of a Mazda CX-9 4WD with Registration AKD 277 FM driven by one Nnaemeka Offor at Nkwo roundabout Umunze in Orumba South LGA of Anambra State.
“The Commissioner of Police *CP John B.Abang, fdc is deeply saddened by the unfortunate incident and has ordered for a full scale investigation into the matter.
“The CP further assures the public that justice would be done in the case and the outcome of Police investigation shall be made public in due course please,” he stated.
