A Ground Breaking ceremony for the building of an Ultramodern International Research Centre by the Marcel Ofomata Foundation for the University of Nigeria, Nsukka has been laid by the Founder Of the Foundation, Dr Amaechi Marcel Ofomata along with the Institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Charles Arinzechukwu Igwe.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Founder Of Marcel Ofomata Foundation, Dr Amaechi M. Ofomata said; “This Ultramodern International Resource Centre upon completion will be used by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Research (CEDR) of this this great Citadel of learning.
This is part of our modest commitment to supporting entrepreneurship education and development in the country. As a business leader, it is our firm believe that the entrepreneurial Centre and infrastructure will inspire students within and outside the university to grow enterprise consciousness and emerging businesses towards becoming self reliant while creating chains of opportunities for themselves, others and national development” he added.
Dr Amaechi Ofomata who is also the Chairman of Amaecom Group pledged to use his position as global entrepreneur to attract practical partnership programmes, internships for students and trainings from other top business leaders and organizations around the globe towards advancing the resourcefulness of the Entrepreneurship Centre.
The Founder behalf of our Foundation expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor who earlier received the team on a courtesy visit before the Ground Breaking Ceremony and the University Administration for creating the enabling environment.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Charles A. Igwe has commended the Marcel Ofomata Foundation for their commitment and partnering the university to advance the frontiers of academic excellence especially in the area of entrepreneurship development. Prof. Igwe salutes the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of the Foundation and charge other organizations and well placed individuals in the society to emulate the Marcel Ofomata Foundation by investing in Education.
The event was attended by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration and Academics as well as the University Registrar, Director, Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Research, President of Alumni Association, other academics, students, leadership of Marcel Ofomata Foundation and the university community.
