Nigeria @66; Nwosu Inspires Hope For Better Country

Mr John Nwosu, a Good Governance Advocate has expressed confidence that Nigeria can still be a great country despite its development, economic and social challenges.

Nwosu, a former governorship candidate in Anambra said this in his 2026 Independence message on Thursday.

He congratulated the government and people of Nigeria at home and in the diaspora saying he was strongly convinced that the country had enormous human and natural resources to make it great again if properly managed.

“Our most urgent challenge is security, those in authority must tackle insecurity head-on.

“No citizen should be afraid to travel, farm, trade or raise a family because of criminality,” he said.

Nwosu called for deployment of modern technology, intelligence and better coordination in the fight against insecurity, saying that tech technology was a powerful weapon against corruption and waste.

He said it would make for digital procurement, transparent financial systems, electronic payments and real-time monitoring of public projects.

“Beyond security and corruption, realities confronting us include unemployment, rising living costs, inadequate infrastructure, unreliable power, poor healthcare challenges and limited opportunities.

“Our young Nigerians deserve more than promises, they deserve quality education, practical skills, access to technology and an economy where hard work and enterprise can lead to a decent livelihood,” he said.

Nwosu said public leadership should be about service, responsibility and results adding that institutions should work, rule of law should be respected and public resources should be for the common good.

He said elections were an opportunity to shape the direction of the government and called on the eligible citizens to endeavour to vote and defend their votes through lawful and peaceful means.

“Let us not lose faith in Nigeria, our challenges are real, but so is our capacity to overcome them.

‘I remain hopeful that, with courage, integrity, innovation and a genuine commitment to one another, we can build a Nigeria that gives every citizen a reason to believe in the future,” he said.
