Nine Reps, Six HoA Aspirants Jostle For ADC Tickets In Anambra
The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Anambra Chapter says nine Federal House of Representatives and six House of Assembly aspirants have indicated interest to contest in the platform of the party in Anambra.
Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, a Chieftain of ADC said this after Anambra ADC Leadership Consultative Meeting held in Awka on Friday.
Nwobu said the ADC in Anambra was loyal to the national leadership under Sen. David Mark and Rauf. Aregbesola as national Chairman and Secretary
He described the morale in the party as high and said that most of the aspirants had obtained their nomination forms with the confidence to win.
He said though the defection of Peter Obi and some other former stakeholders of the party into the National Democratic Congress was painful, the ADC was still strong and formidable for electoral victory in Anambra.
He said going by the realities within the party, the State Executive Committee would remain under the Chairmanship of Mr Patrick Obianyo till the expiration of his tenure.
“Rising from the Anambra ADC Leadership Consultative Meeting, we resolved to stay committed to the party and pledge our loyalty to the national leadership under Sen. David Mark and Rauf. Aregbesola.
“We appreciate our leader Dr Okey Nwosu for providing the platform for the coalition and Anambra will not be found wanting in the project.
“We are prepared to contest and win election in 2027 and about nine persons have indicated to contest on our platform and another six have purchased forms for Anambra House of Assembly.
“We feel the exit of our former members and we wish them luck but we are strong, united and formidable for election
victories,” he said.
