The people of Nteje Community in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra have called on Gov. Chukwuma Soludo to reward the massive mandate given to him on Nov. 8 by the people of the state with more dividends of democracy.

Nteje people during a victory party for members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) hosted by Chief Chris Nnebo, the traditional ruler-elect of the community.

Chief Chidiebele Obika, a

former President General of Nteje, commended the people of Nteje for heeding our plea to vote for the re-election of the governor.

Obika said Nteje delivered APGA in all the 63 polling units in the five political wards of the community and ensured a 100 per cent for the governor.

He said Nnebo led Nteje to the ‘election war’ and inspired the party to an overwhelming victory at all polling units and wards.

“The governor is aware of the efforts we made and he has promised to come and appreciate us personally.

“We even had a brother who contested on the platform of another party, but we told him that Anambra North just left Government House and it was not our turn,” he said.

Obika called on Soludo to address the development challenge of Nteje and reward their votes.

He said some of thesome of the projects that demanded urgent attention were Orukabi-Airport Road, Ekeigwe-Achalla Agu-Nando Road, Slaughter Nteje- Marist College Road and Mkpu Law-Airport Road.

“We also need government intervention in the massive gully erosion sites including Ekeigwe market erosion

Achalla uno/Adu erosion and Adagbe Amadiaba erosion,” he said.

On his part, Nnebo, the traditional ruler elect congratulated Soludo in his re-election and appreciated the people of Nteje for their support.

Nnebo said politics was over and it was time for the people to unite for the progress of the community and Anambra.

“I call on everybody to embrace peace, the community has been in existence before politics, so we have to accept the wish of the people and unite for peace and progress of Nteje,” he said.

The victory party had members of APGA in all the five political wards, elders of Nteje, women and youth groups in attendance.
