NYSC Inducts 1,830 Corps Members In Anambra
No fewer than 1,830 corps members comprising 722 males and 1,108 females were inducted into the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 11 Orientation Course.
Mrs Blessing Iruma, the Coordinator of NYSC in Anambra presented the new members for swearing in at the permanent orientation camp Mbaukwu/Umuawulu on Friday.
She said the swearing in officially marked the beginning of the journey which would transform them into leaders and change-makers of the future.
“The purpose of the NYSC orientation course is to prepare the Corps members for the service year ahead, equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and values.
“We appreciate Gov. Soludo’s ongoing efforts in ensuring that the NYSC’s presence in Anambra State continues to have a positive impact on the youth and the communities they serve,” she said.
On his part, Gov. Chukwuma Soludo advised corps members posted to Anambra to take advantage of the various opportunities his administration is creating in the technology innovation sector.
Soludo who was represented by Mr Patrick Aghamba, Commissioner for Youth Development commended the NYSC for their dedication to Nigeria’s socio economic development.
He said his administration was implementing the Clean and Green waste management and environmental conservation
initiative which was enhancing the quality of life in urban centers and urged the corps members to support the programme.
My administration has also prioritised youth development through our Solution Innovation District where we have empowered 20,000 youths with digital skills.
“We have Solution Sports Initiative where we are uncovering and nurturing sporting talents and the One Youth Two Skills Solution were we are providing vocational and entrepreneurial training,
“As Corps Members, I urge you to seize these opportunities, contribute your talents, and actively participate in programs that will equip you with skills for success,” he said.
