Obi-Soludo Faceoff: Umeh Can’t Be Trusted — Obigwe
Chief Chinedu Obigwe, the National Coordinator APGA Media Warriors Forum has told Sen. Victor Umeh to stop his attempt to distort facts.
Obigwe, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) said this on Wednesday while debunking Umeh’s claim that Gov. Chukwuma Soludo was against Mr Peter Obi because of hate and envy.
Obigwe who described the claim as a senseless cock and bull story said Soludo had no reason to be envious of Obi but rather it was the other way round.
He said Umeh should be ignored for his inconsistency, chameleonic lifestyle and as one who spoke from the both sides of his mouth.
“I remember vividly that in 2010 when Soludo contested against Obi, he manufactured lies that if Soludo became governor he would contest the 2011 presidential election against him.
“He used this fabricated tissue of lies to win over President Jonathan who gave him Federal might to win that 2010 election.
“I will say it boldly that Peter is more envious and jealous of Soludo and the fear of Soludo is the beginning of Peter Obi’s wisdom,” he said.
Obigwe said Umeh was making the false claims because he was a beneficiary of Obi’s political goodwill even though he knew that the NDC presidential candidate would not win.
He said the only offence of Soludo against Umeh was subjecting him to APGA primary election ahead of 2023 general election in which he lost to Dozie Nwankwo.
According to him, Umeh’s loss of that primary made him go and reach a deal of joining the Labour Party with Peter Obi.
“When they moved to NDC, Victor Umeh lost the NDC primary election to Nwabueze Oli but Peter Obi supported their party leadership to deny Nwabueze Oli the ticket in favour of Umeh whom he defeated in their primary election.
“What Peter Obi did for Victor Umeh against Nwabueze Oli was what Victor Umeh expected Soludo to do for him in 2022 against Dozie Nwankwo but Soludo rejected doing that as a true democrat.
This is the same Umeh who referred to Obi as a pathological liar in the past under former Gov Obiano’s regime, claiming that he taught Obi politics,” he said.
