Obiano Orders Probe Of Gruesome Murder Of Deposed Traditional Ruler
Gov Willie Obiano of Anambra State has directed the Police Command in the state to investigate and unravel the mystery behind the gruesome murderer of Chief Alexander Edozieuno, the former traditional ruler of Mkpunando in Anambra East Local Government Area.
Mr Cdon Adinuba, Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment in Anambra who disclosed this in a Statement said tge government received the news of the murder of Edozieuno with.
NewsMonitor reports that tget traditional ruler was killed early Friday together with his driver, simply identified as Chukwuemeka, while driving on Ezu Bridge, Otuocha, Anambra East LGA.
Adinuba said Obiano had directed the new CP in Anambra Mr Tony Olofu deploy every resources available to him to fish out those behind the murder.
He said the CP had visited the crime scene and taken relevant actions
“It is disheartening that Chief Edozieuno should die this way
“We regret that there are still elements who have little regard for human life, let alone the dignity of the human person.
“We extend the condolences of the people and Government of Anambra State to the Edozieuno family, the Mkpunando community, the friends, relatives and associates of Chief Edozieuno,” he stated.
Late Edozieuno, 62 was in August 2020 suspended alongside 11 other traditional rulers by Obiano for visiting President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja in the company of the billionaire oil magnate, Prince Arthur Eze
He was subsequently dethroned and replaced.
