Over 50 Political Support Groups Back Nicholas Ukachukwu For Governor
The candidacy of Prince Dr Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has received a boost ahead of the Nov. 8 governorship election in Anambra.
This follows his adoption by 50 grassroots based political support groups in Anambra.
Chief Arinzechukwu Awogu, National Coordinator of Ikemba Front, a leading support group within the APC disclosed this in a meeting with 21 coordinators of Ikukuoma Golden Ladies in Onitsha on Friday.
Ikukuoma Golden Ladies is a political cum social group formerly with the Late Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah political family
Awogu said there had been a torrent of support since the emergence of Ukachukwu as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
He said the development had further increased the popularity of the APC candidate among the people.
“Formidable politically active groups have made known their support and preference for Prince Ukachukwu and have gone ahead to endorse him.
“They have intensified grassroots canvassing for support for Prince Dr. Nicholas Ukachukwu,” he said.
Chief Tony Uche Ezekwelu and Dr Chike Ekwueme,Co-Conveners of Anambra State Equity Movement appreciated Ikukuoma Golden Ladies for their dedication towards the governorship aspiration of Ukachukwu.
They said the efforts of the group and such other groups could not go unnoticed.
Also speaking, Ms Onyeka Anwadike, Coordinator of Ikukuoma Golden Ladies said they were part of the late Sen. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah’s political family but decided to collapse into Ikukuoma Golden Ladies to provide a window of opportunity for them to pursue the dream of the late Senator.
Anwadike said their main reason for joining Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu was because they saw in him the fulfillment of the aspirations of late Sen. Ubah.
