Ozigbo hails Release Of Jude Nnam, Chides Soludo On Anambra Insecurity
Mr Valentine Ozigbo, a chieftain of the Labour Party has celebrated the freedom of Dr Jude Nnam, an ace Catholic hymn composer from his abductors in Anambra.
Nnam the National Music Director for the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and a member of the National Liturgical Commission, Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN)
He was abducted in Umunnachi, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra on Nov. 17.
Ozigbo who said this on Thursday after a visit to his home said it was sad that Anambra was being overwhelmed by criminals.
Ozigbo said Nnam had joined the long list of unfortunate citizens who had either been kidnapped or killed by hoodlums in Anambra.
He said the driver was still recuperating from gun wounds.
“Today I visited the legendary Christian music composer and director, Dr Jude Nnam, who was released on Wednesday by kidnappers.
“Just last Monday five people were shot dead across two communities in the state.
“It is no longer news today that hoodlums have overwhelmed the State number one citizen, Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
“Anambra does not deserve this sad situation. May God continue to save his people as the day of reckoning draws near,” he said.
Ozigbo, who thanked God for the safe return of Nnam, prayed that the spate of criminality reduced.
He accused Soludo of insensitive to insecurity in Anambra saying he neither visited the scene nor commiserated with victims and their families.
Ozigbo said it was unfortunate that citizens werr now left to their own fate by a government which apparently misuses its security vote.
“This development portrays his total lack of empathy for the people whose security is his primary responsibility.
“His only reaction was his visit to Nibo a day after over a dozen citizens were killed by hoodlums.
“He visited, probably out of embarrassment that it occurred a shouting distance from Governor’s Lodge.
“But even then, he turned that visit into a corn eating session in an obvious mockery of the situation,” he said.
Ozigbo thanked for the life of others with Nnam at the time of incident including Rev Fr Emmanuel Afunugo and Rev Sr Maria Nkiruka Okafor together with their driver, who were all accosted by the kidnappers but were allowed to go.
