Second NLO, Berackiah Coaching Clinic Kicks Off In Anambra
The second edition of Nationwide League One and Berackiah Coaching Clinic for grassroots football coaches commenced in Awka, the Anambra capital.
Newsmonitor reports that the coaching clinic sponsored by The coaching clinic is sponsored by Aspire Foundation through Anambra State Football Club Owners Association and Aspire FC, Adazi Ani, Anaocha Local Government Area.
The organisers say the Clinic was part of the preparation of the second Super-8 tournament in Anambra.
The event which would run from Feb 15 to Feb 19 would also give the participants the opportunity to weigh-in on recent developments and modern technicalities and rules of the game.
The training would have both classroom sessions at the Anambra Sports Development Commission Conference Hall and field sessions where practical drills would be held.
No fewer than 23 coaches, three FIFA badged instructors and NLO officials had already arrived for the event while more would join.
Declaring the Coaching Clinic open, Victor Aniekwena, Vice Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association, major partners in the project said that it was a welcome development aimed at enhancing the capacity of coaches and administrators.
Aniekwena lauded the sponsor, Aspire FC for the initiative which he said would enable the AnambraFA to revolutionise football in the State.
“It is a good thing that would help fish out coaches who are eager to impact on budding talents.
“It will serve as a guide for them to properly execute their job and career,” he said.
Alphonsus Dike, one of the instructors said the project was a veritable tool to galvanise football at the grassroots level.
Dike said that the process would address the fundamental problems associated with football development at the grassroots and in the country.
