Sen. Ubah Applauds Tinubu, Says SEDC Law Will Address Region’s Development  Challenges 

 

Sen. Ifeanyi Ubah, representing  Anambra South Senatorial District has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for signing the Southeast Development Commission  (SEDC) Bill into law.

 

In a Statement issued by Mr Kamen Ogbonna, his Media Aide in Awka on Wednesday, Ubah  said the coming of the Commission would address some of the development challenges of the Southeast region and it a sense of inclusion 

 

He said it  showed  the President’s commitment towaess addressing the region’s development challenges and fostering unity

 

“The passage of this bill marks the culmination of the Southeast’s tireless efforts to establish a development commission that will address the region’s critical needs,” he said.

 

Ubah said Inubu had corrected the error of the previous administration which denied its assent reinforced feelings of injustice among the people and inhibited the popularity of the All Progressives Congress in the region 

 

He also commended President Tinubu for paving the way for meaningful collaboration between the Southeast and the federal government, ensuring the region’s growth and prosperity.

 

The senator said he and his colleagues from the Southeast as well as the people who eagerly waited for the birth of the law were grateful to Mr President.

 

“The SEDC will be responsible for managing allocations from the Federation Account for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads, houses, and other infrastructure damage suffered by the region due to the civil war.

 

“The commission will also tackle ecological problems of environmental or development challenges in Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, and Ebonyi states.
