Sen. Umeh Education Foundation Trains 2,320, Disburses N60m to 326 Students
No fewer than 2,320 have completed their studies in different institutions of higher learning through the support of the Sen. Victor Umeh Education Foundation.

The Sen. Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly said this during the disbursement of a total of 64 million to a batch of 326 beneficiaries in Awka on Tuesday.
Umeh said the 326 beneficiaries were selected from the 58 communities in Anambra Central Senatorial District and from stakeholders including students from other Southeast States across denominational lines
He said his foundation was interested in intelligent but indigent students who did not have the financial support to pursue their careers.
According to him, youth and education empowerment is a major chunk of my project and is a major part of my constituency allowance, this is in line with what Mr Peter Obi, my brother and leader is doing.
“An educated person is a civilised mind, that is why we have increased the fund to N60 million this year against the previous edition of N37 million,” he said.
Umeh also encouraged students to access the Federal government’s Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) which he said had helped many to support their studies.
“I also want to encourage you to embrace the Federal Government NELFUND, it has really helped a lot of people, the difference is that you have to pay back so that others can benefit,” he said.
Also speaking, Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 presidential candidate applauded Umeh for choosing to build the future of the country through educational empowerment.
He said education remained the easiest way to build a prosperous nation noting that the world was in high demand of skilled manpower and whoever was privileged to have should be grateful to their benefactor.
Mrs Ebele Nnajidemma, a parent of one of the beneficiaries said the intervention was a serious relief for her.
Nnajidemma said training her daughter through the nursing school was a burden that she would not have been able to carry alone.
“I appreciate you and today, I call you Destiny Lifter,” she said.
