Sit-At-Home: Soludo Not Selective In Enforcement Of Ban—Obigwe

Obigwe who, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) said on Thursday that every market in Anambra was issued a circular on the directive to open for trading on Mondays.

He said there was no truth that he singled out the Onitsha Main Market for victimisation.
Obigwe said the Onitsha main market was only a takeoff point for compliance monitoring because it was the biggest and was of strategic importance in the state.
“What Gov. Soludo did is in defence of the long term interest of traders and the good people of the State.
“No government will fold its hands and watch criminal elements normalise abnormality in their State.
“Those raining abuses and threats against Soludo on this first week of closure of Onirsha Main Market are being delusional,” he said.
Obigwe said major stakeholders in Onitsha Main market were in support of Soludo’s action because they knew he was acting in the best interest of traders and the good people of the State at large.
He said there was no need for anybody or group to politicise what he described as a commendable decision as it meant they did not mean well for Anambra nor cared about the future and wellbeing of the citizens..
“To say enough is enough to the Mondays sit-at-home is one of Soludo’s best decisions, he deserves commendation not vilification for taking the bold decision
“Anambra is truly in the right hands and the people of the State will continue to support Soludo because it is obvious that his administration has the best interest of the State at heart,” he said.
