SWAN Games: Anambra CP Advises Youths To Shun Drugs, Crime
CP Nnanna-Oji Ama, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra has advised youths to stay away from drugs but channel their energy to positive endeavours.
Ama made the call while addressing the leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra State Chapter in his office ahead of the forthcoming Games.
The Sports Week which had the theme “Sports for Peace and Economic Empowerment” is scheduled to hold at Cosmilla Hotel Sports Arena Aug. 20 and Aug. 21.
The CP also called for the cooperation of the media and the good people of Anambra in the task of making Anambra crime free and safe for all.
Ama who endorsed the SWAN said sports was vital for mental and physical alertness as well as a positive of channeling energy especially for youths
He approved the participation of the Police team in the and promised to reposition the sports doctorate of the Command to winning ways
He advised SWAN and the participating teams to play fair and win fair, adding that it was not and building stronger bonds.
Chimezie Anaso, Chairman of SWAN in Anambra said the event was designed to promote physical fitness, mental alertness and healthy relaxation among journalists and participating teams.
The Anambra State Football Association and All Stars Football Club of Awka have signed up to partcipate in the games.
