United Nigeria Airlines Welcomes Ghana Envoy, Reiterates Robust Service Delivery On Accra-Abuja Route
The Ghanaian High Commissioner to Nigeria and Permanent Representative to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) His Excellency, Sadiq Abu, has commended United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) for its efficient service on the Accra–Abuja–Accra route.
Abu made the commendation when a delegation from UNA, led by Mr. Linus Awute, the Director of Administration, paid him a courtesy visit at the Ghana High Commission in Abuja on Wednesday.
The visit was to formally welcome the newly appointed envoy to Nigeria and convey the goodwill of the management and board of the airline to him.

Chief Obiora Okonkwo, the Chairman of UNA said the company’s boss had a longstanding relationship with the President of Ghana, John Mahama and reaffirmed its commitment to deepening the historic ties between Ghana and Nigeria.
He said there was a strong Ghanaian presence within United Nigeria Airlines and that a significant number of Ghanaian nationals were part of the airline’s workforce.
He noted that these members of staff played critical roles in the company’s operational excellence and safety adding that it reflected the enduring people-to-people relations between both countries.
On his part, Abu appreciated the UNA team for the visit and the company for its service on the Accra route.
He expressed interest in strengthening collaboration between the High Commission and the airline.
The High Commissioner informed the delegation of Ghana’s 70th Independence Anniversary on March 6, 2027, and invited UNA to explore partnership opportunities around the commemorative activities.
“I want to call on United Nigeria Airlines to consider a special corporate travel package for Commission staff and support arrangements for official cargo,” he said.
Presenting a signature gift to the High Commissioner, Mr Awute reiterated UNA’s commitment to the relationship and to its brand philosophy of “Flying to Unite.”
He said the airline would continue to leverage its connectivity between Ghana and Nigeria to advance diplomatic, economic, business, cultural and people-to-people ties.
