Why Atiku Should Support Peter Obi To Fly ADC Ticket In 2027—–Equity Mov’t
Equity Movement Turn By Turn (EMTbT), a political pressure group has called on the former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to drop his ambition and support Mr Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.
Chief Gaius Ezeh, the National Coordinator of the EMTbT made the call in a Statement in Awka on Wednesday.
Ezeh said Atiku should accept to step down for Obi who is also an experienced politician, a great bridge builder, prudent manager of public resources,
He said a good understanding between Atiku and Obi was all that Nigeria needed to reach the promised land as the country, not Nigeria, could not afford another four years of Tinubu’s presidency.
He said Obi was the best option for Nigerians and African Democratic Congress (ADC) while calling on the leadership and elders of the coalition party to rise in one voice and appeal to Atiku to step down for Obi in the interest of the people.
“Since it is very clear that the Obidients are taking us to the part of economic survival and over 80 per cent of them are youths, do we the elders of ADC have any excuse not to give them 100 per cent support?
“Peter Obi, the best governor of his time, an economist, a tested and trusted prudent manager of public resources.
“The only way we can only avert another four years of Tinubu is if we are able to convince our good friend, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to step down.
“If we are able to do this the ADC shall win and salvage Nigeria, and Nigeria and the future generations shall ever honour Atiku for the sacrifice,” he said.
He said not giving the ticket to Obi would imply that the party had willingly chosen to allow Tinubu to cruise back to Aso Rock.
According to him, it will mean that we have chosen to prolong the economic woes of Nigeria and Nigerians.
“It means we have endorsed the continued mass exodus of Nigerians to places they do not know.
“It means we have endorsed the continued death of Nigerian youths in the Sahara desert as they seek for daily bread which is practically not available in Nigeria.
“Before we choose not to speak now,we should be aware of the implications,” he said.
