Anambra Poll: Gen. Isama joins Nicholas Ukachukwu’s Governorship Project
Brig. Gen. Nnamdi Isama (Rtd) has thrown his weight behind the candidacy of Dr Nicholas Ukachukwu for the Anambra governorship contest scheduled for Nov. 8.
Isama, an indigene of Atani in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra was decorated with Ukachukwu insignia by the leader of and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the area Chief Arinzechukwu Awogu,
Awogu who is the National Coordinator of Ikemba Front support group was assisted by Mr Dan Nwokedi, a clergyman and Group Managing Director of SNECOU Group Limited who is a passionate promoter of Ukachukwu’s governorship quest.
He said the endorsement by the retired general was a testament to the sweeping wind of change gliding the wings of Anambra to safety and accelerated development.
According to him, when we say that the generals are coming together, it is not only in the coming together of political gladiators, shakers and movers of our today’s political pendulum who are resolute in their determination to unseat the non-performing and retrogressive incumbent governor.
“We are talking about patriotic Nigerians who have served this country at the topmost level like Brig. Gen. Nnamdi Isama rtd and critical stakeholders who desire to see their home state attain appreciable heights in physical infrastructure and human development.
“The APC candidate, Prince Dr Nicholas Ukachukwu is seen as the only one in the circumstance who can be trusted by the people of Anambra State to move the state forward,” he said.
Awogu, a former Ogbaru Local Government Council Chairman frowned at what he described as the deliberate underdevelopment of Ogbaru noting that it got worse under the Prof . Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.
He said that it was only Ogbaru among all the pre-colonial Nigerian communities that was yet to have tarred roads and electricity.
“Ogbaru has remained so since the days of Adam and Eve, these are communities that bear the oil that earn us derivation as an oil producing state.
“Nothing can be as mind-boggling as that to a people abandoned and neglected by an abysmal administration,” he said.
The three Nwokedi, Ukachukwu and Isama belonged to Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS) Onitsha class-86 set.
